NYC Streets With the Fewest Street Crime Reports (2026)
Streets ranked on felony assaults, robberies, murders and home break-ins recorded per home
About Streets With the Lowest Street Crime
Street crime here means one thing, counted one way. It is the number of felony assaults, robberies, murders and home break-ins the NYPD recorded on a street since 2021, counted against the homes on that street and ranked against streets of the same kind, so a busy avenue is judged against other busy avenues rather than against a cul-de-sac. Only the reports the department placed midblock are in it. An event logged at a corner belongs to two streets and is set aside rather than charged to one of them, and the coordinates the NYPD uses for events it could not place, the station houses, are excluded outright. A high reading means the department recorded few of those four things per home on that block, and it means nothing else: it is not a reading of how a street feels after dark, it does not cover the other felonies in the file, and a street near the top of this list can sit one block from a street near the bottom. Streets with nothing at all on record land together in the middle of their band rather than at the top, because a block with no reports and a block with a good record are two different claims and a rank cannot tell them apart. Read this as a ranking of what the NYPD wrote down on comparable streets, not as a list of where you are likely to come to harm.
